Package: tmpreaper Version: 1.6.13 Severity: normal
Just setting TMPREAPER_TIME= in /etc/tmpreaper.conf does not work because the /etc/cron.daily/tmpreaper script looks at TMPTIME in /etc/default/rcS first, and if it's set to 0 (which is the default) uses a 7d TMPREAPER_TIME. To override that I have to specifically replace TMPTIME=0 with TMPTIME= in /etc/default/rcS, then set TMPREAPER_TIME in /etc/tmpreaper.conf, or just have it inherit its TMPREAPER_TIME value from TMPTIME. This makes it hard to have a TMPREAPER_TIME distinct from TMPTIME. It should first evaluate /etc/tmpreaper.conf, and if TMPREAPER_TIME is set there (or by the environment) it should not consider /etc/default/rcS at all. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (800, 'unstable'), (700, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32.12-x86_64-linode12 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages tmpreaper depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.32 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.10.2-6 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib tmpreaper recommends no packages. tmpreaper suggests no packages. -- Configuration Files: /etc/tmpreaper.conf changed [not included] -- debconf information excluded -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
