/usr/share/wicd/daemon/wicd-daemon.py has:
# restore resolv.conf on quit
try:
shutil.move(wpath.varlib + 'resolv.conf.orig', '/etc/resolv.conf')
except IOError:
print 'error restoring resolv.conf'
hence the problem with "/etc/resolv.conf".
Still in this file, I can see:
os.umask(0)
This sounds really wrong.
