I updated to xfdesktop4 version 4.6.2-1 just now. So far, I've only logged out and back in twice... but I have not had the font problem I had before. If the problem does not recur after a week or two, I will close this bug myself. Otherwise, I may ask for some ideas on what part of the source code I could instrument to detect where and why the issue is occuring. (I had downloaded the source for the previous version of xfdesktop4, and looked around a bit, but never found time to try any ideas I had on how to catch the bug.)
