lenny according to http://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=xterm is xterm patch #235.
I added the pointerMode resource in #232, with the same default resource setting as it has now. Before #232, there was no resource setting. The feature for hiding the cursor was introduced in #230, which is still before lenny. The change in #230 attempted to "always" hide the pointer, while of course before #230, it "never" hid the pointer. The change in #232 was made overridable in the packed, since I used an #ifndef.
