As of gnus 5.10.6-1.NO.20050719-1, I still have this problem. I will retest as soon as I can download the version you uploaded today. (I'll be very eager to try that anyway since I use w3m. I am subscribed to bug 318648, so I saw the upload ;-]) Were you able to reproduce the problem in bug 302089 after I posted a recipe for reproducing it in an uncustomied emacs?
