Installing the linux-image-2.6.26-2-686-bigmem_2.6.26-22lenny1_i386.deb fixed the problem for me. Your fixed kernel let me boot my guests, Debian squeeze (kernel 2.6.30 / 2.6.32) , as well as xubuntu (2.6.31), with no problems.
