Hi! The patch worked beautifully I got simply returned to the ftp prompt after bogusly trying to connect to a host. Which , as I suspect, is the default behaviour and therefor fixed the bug. Note: I applied the patch and build the package on a amd64 architecture if that matters for this bug.
