Package: release-notes Severity: wishlist Tags: squeeze Hello,
If 'CONCURRENCY=makefile' is default I think it's obvious that it should be mentioned, but I think it's also worth mentioning as a possibility for admins to experiment with, something like (immediately following the dependency based boot): --- The dependency based booting also allows starting services in parallel, which under circumstances can improve the boot speed. In order to enable it the line: CONCURRENCY=makefile has to be added to /etc/default/rcS. This feature has not been enabled for squeeze because it can prevent some daemons from starting in specific configurations or, in some very rare cases, even make the entire system unbootable. --- Regards, Andrei -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.29-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=ro_RO.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=ro_RO.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
