Package: cryptsetup Version: 2:1.0.6-7 Severity: normal When using a fat32 formated USB passdev I couldn't get it to work until I added these lines to /etc/initramfs-tools/modules:
vfat fat nls_cp437 nls_iso8859_1 nls_utf8 'update-initramfs -u' is needed after the changes. Might be that the real bug is that those files aren't being added in the initrd image automagically. But I bet it wouldn't hurt to mention that you need to take care the modules your passdev's filesystem needs, need to be in the initrd image. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.4 APT prefers stable APT policy: (990, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-2-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages cryptsetup depends on: ii dmsetup 2:1.02.27-4 The Linux Kernel Device Mapper use ii libc6 2.7-18lenny2 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdevmapper1.02.1 2:1.02.27-4 The Linux Kernel Device Mapper use ii libpopt0 1.14-4 lib for parsing cmdline parameters ii libuuid1 1.41.3-1 universally unique id library cryptsetup recommends no packages.
