This bug has caused me considerable irritation recently, as it has made updating music on my MP3 player less convenient than it was 12 months ago, which is not good enough for a distro that supports desktop users. As a developer, I can do something about it, but a lot of users couldn't. So, here's what I did.
Search the Lenny repository for: amarok-common_1.4.10-2lenny1_all.deb amarok-engine-xine_1.4.10-2lenny1_i386.deb amarok_1.4.10-2lenny1_i386.deb Yes, I am still running an i386 box! Your mileage with other architectures may vary. Install the packages in the order above (I removed amarok 2.3 first). This worked for me and I would expect it to work for others.
