Package: libcairo2-dbg Version: 1.8.10-4 Severity: normal Package: libcairo2 version 1.8.10-4
affects: iceweasel 3.5.9, icedove 3.0.4, thunderbird 3 in Lucid Lynx (Ubuntu) Problem: Still since the libcairo2 version, which is mentioned in the Subject there is a strange bug in the view of the above mentioned programmes. For example the iceweasel pull-down-menu „Help“ ist absolutely transparent. It's still usable (click there causes the appropriate reaction – but as I don't see anything it's some kind of lottery) Te same thing affects some of the menu prompts and also the icedove password prompt. I'm not quite sure where to tell this, but as some month ago when libcairo2 in squeeze was 1.8.10-1 (or something like this) I took the libcairo2-version from unstable into my debian sid, and everythings works like a charm. Now in squeeze there is also the newer version of libcairo2 and even experimental seems to bring the same problems. But as it worked before I think it is in libcairo2. I've noticed that the problem is gone if I shutdown any kind of composite… (compiz and even metacity composite) but as I'm not very experienced in debugging librarys I've no idea how to start. To show the effects of the bug I will link here two WWW-Addresses. http://debianforum.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=119791 http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/lucid-lynx-soweit-alles-toll-ausser- thunderbi/ There are some screenshots at this places to illustrate the problem. Firefox 3.6.X seems to be not affected, so I'm still not quite sure if it will be a libcairo2 bug. Both users which got these problems (me and „willeknille“) have an ATI Mobility Radeon… Sorry for my english – I'm no native speaker so I will be glad if you get my point ;-) -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.33-3.slh.5-sidux-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=de_DE.utf8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libcairo2-dbg depends on: ii libcairo2 1.8.10-4 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra libcairo2-dbg recommends no packages. libcairo2-dbg suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
