Package: libgettext-ruby1.8
Version: 2.1.0-2
Severity: important
Tags: squeeze sid

As of gettext-ruby 2.0.0, Rails support was moved to a separate
module/gem, gettext_rails - Which cannot be presently packaged for
Debian, as it supports only Rails ≥ 2.3.2 (and only version 2.2.3 is
present in unstable so far).

If internal changes are not too big, maybe pre-2.0.0 Rails support
could be copied back? I understand it is likely Squeeze will release
with Rails 2.2.3, and it would be a shame to lose Gettext support on
rails. Apparently Rails support is quite self-contained –
lib/gettext/rails.rb, lib/gettext/rails_compat.rb, rails.po and
rails.mo files for the supported languages and the test cases.
