Package: libgettext-ruby1.8 Version: 2.1.0-2 Severity: important Tags: squeeze sid
As of gettext-ruby 2.0.0, Rails support was moved to a separate module/gem, gettext_rails - Which cannot be presently packaged for Debian, as it supports only Rails ≥ 2.3.2 (and only version 2.2.3 is present in unstable so far). If internal changes are not too big, maybe pre-2.0.0 Rails support could be copied back? I understand it is likely Squeeze will release with Rails 2.2.3, and it would be a shame to lose Gettext support on rails. Apparently Rails support is quite self-contained – lib/gettext/rails.rb, lib/gettext/rails_compat.rb, rails.po and rails.mo files for the supported languages and the test cases. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-trunk-vserver-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libgettext-ruby1.8 depends on: ii liblocale-ruby1.8 2.0.5-2 pure ruby locale library ii libruby 4.5 Libraries necessary to run Ruby 1. ii locales 2.10.2-7 Embedded GNU C Library: National L ii locales-all [locales] 2.10.2-7 Embedded GNU C Library: Precompile ii ruby1.8 [irb1.8] 1.8.7.249-3 Interpreter of object-oriented scr libgettext-ruby1.8 recommends no packages.
