Package: debhelper Version: 7.4.19 Severity: wishlist -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1
I recently discovered that you are using `make -j1' explicitly in debhelper compat level 7. But this overwrites my MAKEFLAGS settings for no reason (I usually build with 'export MAKEFLAGS=-j2'). Why do you use -j1 here and slow down the build process? If someone wants to prevent parallel building, he might use the .NOTPARALLEL target in the makefile. Otherwise please don't take the decision to run make serially! Of course DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS might contain information about parallel building. Please only touch the -j switch if DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS contains something related. Otherwise don't touch any set MAKEFLAGS.
