When I click on a HTTP URL in Org-mode, the message "No usable browser found" is displayed. Until a few days ago, clicking on HTTP URLs started Iceweasel. Perhaps this problem stems from Debian's Iceweasel package having recently eliminated /etc/alternatives/mozilla [1]. To work around this, I have added the following to my .emacs file: (custom-set-variables '(browse-url-browser-function (quote browse-url-generic)) '(browse-url-generic-program "x-www-browser")) [1] http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/i/iceweasel/iceweasel_3.5.9-2/changelog#versionversion3.5.9-1 -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-3-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages emacs23-common depends on: ii dpkg 1.15.5.6 Debian package management system ii emacsen-common 1.4.19 Common facilities for all emacsen emacs23-common recommends no packages.
