Package: libpng3
Version: 1.2.43-1
Severity: important
Tags: squeeze

The transitional package (which is still needed) created a broken link between
/usr/lib/libpng.so.3 and the nonexistant /usr/lib/libpng12.so.0
The package was therefore useless. It should have linked to a file.
I fixed the problem by removing the broken link and creating another one.
the command ...
# ln -s /lib/libpng12.so /usr/lib/libpng.so.3
.... worked for me.
Check to make sure the libpng you want to link to is actually there!
