Package: clamassassin Version: 1.2.4-1 Severity: critical Justification: causes serious data loss
If clamav-daemon is not running, clamassassin adds wrong headers to the mail ist should be inspecting. This breaks fetchmail, if fetchmail is configured to fetch from the mailserver and delete the mail afterwards. Fetchmail will not fetch the email, but will delete it! Maybe this is also a bug in fetchmail. To reproduce it: mailserver:/# /etc/init.d/clamav-daemon stop Stopping ClamAV daemon: clamd. mailserver:/# echo test | clamassassin X-Virus-Status: Failed X-Virus-Report: clamdscan error 2 X-Virus-Checker-Version: clamassassin 1.2.4 with clamdscan / ERROR: Can't connect to clamd: No such file or directory ClamAV 0.95.3 test The line "ClamAV 0.95.3", added by clamassassin is obviously a false email header. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.4 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
