This is a quick report: I just upgraded to xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.11.0-1 and Linux kernel 2.6.34-rc5 on my ThinkPad X30 laptop (830MG graphics adapter). X works fine if there is no external monitor attached to the laptop when I start the X server. If there is an external monitor attached to the laptop when I start the X server, X produces a blank black screen on both the laptop and the external monitors, and there are no kernel error messages:
kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: setting latency timer to 64 kernel: [drm] set up 15M of stolen space kernel: [drm] initialized overlay support kernel: fb: conflicting fb hw usage inteldrmfb vs VESA VGA - removing generic driver kernel: fb1: inteldrmfb frame buffer device kernel: registered panic notifier kernel: [drm] Initialized i915 1.6.0 20080730 for 0000:00:02.0 on minor 0 The system still responds to SysRq keys after the X malfunction. Note that xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.11.0 *requires* kernel modesetting, so users who are still on 830MG may want to stick to 2:2.9.1-3 (which does not require KMS) until the problem is resolved. -- Chuan-kai Lin http://web.cecs.pdx.edu/~cklin/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
