Hi, Christian. As you said, it was a PHP-related problem. And I finally got to solve it (yeap, finally solved). I think you can close this bug. (In the meanwhile, I found two others. And I think I fixed one of them, he he) Just for the record, the problem description and the solution I found are below. Cheers, L **Problem description Following the instructions in /usr/share/doc/typo3-database/README.Debian 0) I install "typo3-src-4.3" and "typo3-database" 1) Once they are both installed, I install "typo3-dummy" I get the following problems: 0) When I go to the frontend (http://localhost/cms), I'm automatically redirected to the 1-2-3 install tool (http://localhost/cms/typo3/install/index.php?mode=123&step=1&password=joh316). There, I'm asked to do a "sudo touch /var/lib/typo3-dummy/typo3conf/ENABLE_INSTALL_TOOL" in order to proceed with the install procedure (! - Hadn't I already set this up, when configuring the packages?). a) If I ignore the instructions and go straight to the backend (http://localhost/cms/typo3), I get a database access error. (Again: wasn't I asked the database info in the first place?) b) If I do follow them (no matter whether I create a new database or overwrite the existing one), besides geting an (expectable) "No pages found in root level" error in the frontend, I get a blank page in the backend. The most weird is that I've always used default and unchaged config files (for PHP, MySQL and Apache). And both PHPMyAdmin and PHPPgAdmin run flawlessly. **Problem solution After reinstalling all the PHP packages, installing TYPO3 4.2 (I had never installed this package version before, BTW) and *then* upgraded to TYPO3 4.3 (without the database package - I didn't checked with it). The install toll works flawlessly and the backend pages render without problem. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
