I glanced through the issues yesterday but missed the package related issue. I have asked Debian Java Packaging Team[0] about the best way to proceed. They confirmed my suspicion that the way to go is to first get clean source packages for the unpackaged jars. Yesterday I assembled a list of jars and their status, see below. Next step is to package necessary jars and then try to build etherpad, and possibly separate appjet, packages. My plan is to clone the etherpad github repository[1] and work on that.
