I also hit this bug and I have a method to reproduce it. To reproduce it just delete (or rename) .gstreamer0.10 directory in your home then start pidgin again. To "fix" it run pidgin with valgrind that operation create a valid file in the directory that allow subsequent start of the program work without the segfault (maybe a concurrency issue "fixed" by the slowness of valgrind?). Based on what Benjamin say also run pidgin with gdb "fix" the problem like valgrind.
The problem is generated by gstreamer and not from pidgin so the target of this bug must be changed (also totem and rhythmbox cause a segfault). -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org
