An unrelated drbd8-modules fix triggered a tp-smapi rebuild because
they happen to both be built by the linux-modules-extra-2.6
conglomeration package. This involved no source changes for tp-smapi.

Can you verify that reverting to the previous tp-smapi-modules package
works for you? You can still find the previous version here:
