thanks sorry for taking some time, applied with minor changes
(80 char width oldstyle rule and personal preference to not
 call which, but command - it is sh builtin).

concerning the previous sent patch itself, i think mkinitramfs
could still use a commandline argument to specify the wanted
output. could you cook that up against latest:

patch either to new bug report
(as this one was about the general feature) or to
