I have reproduced the build failure (failure in running the java tests) of cvc3 on asdfasdf.debian.net. Running kdump after ktrace -- /usr/lib/jvm/default-java/bin/java -d64 -Djava.library.path=../java/lib/x86_64-kfreebsd-gnu -ea -jar ../java/lib/cvc3test.jar yields as last lines: 28515 gij-4.4 RET read 828/0x33c 28515 gij-4.4 CALL open(0x648800,O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE,<unused>0) 28515 gij-4.4 NAMI "/var/lib/gcj-4.4/classmap.db" 28515 gij-4.4 RET open 8 28515 gij-4.4 CALL stat(0x7fffffffdfc0,0x7fffffffdf30) 28515 gij-4.4 NAMI "/var/lib/gcj-4.4/classmap.db" 28515 gij-4.4 STRU invalid record 28515 gij-4.4 RET stat 0 28515 gij-4.4 CALL fstat(0x8,0x7fffffffe000) 28515 gij-4.4 STRU invalid record 28515 gij-4.4 RET fstat 0 28515 gij-4.4 CALL mmap(0,0x4000,PROT_READ,MAP_PRIVATE,0x8,0) 28515 gij-4.4 RET mmap 6533120/0x80063b000 28515 gij-4.4 CALL break(0x78c000) 28515 gij-4.4 RET break 0 28515 gij-4.4 CALL break(0x7ad000) 28515 gij-4.4 RET break 0 28515 gij-4.4 CALL break(0x7ae000) 28515 gij-4.4 RET break 0 28515 gij-4.4 PSIG SIGBUS SIG_DFL This problem seems to be specific to kfreebsd-amd64: No problems whatsoever on kfreebsd-i386 and amd64 with explicit use of gcj is fine as well. If there is anybody out there who could provide further pointers to debug this issue, I'd happily retry or provide as much additional information as I can. Best, Michael PS.: Downgrading severity as I wouldn't really call this one a show stopper for squeeze.
