As I spent a lot of time with upstream on debugging the issue (unfortunately removing/changing the first test only made a lot of regression tests fail....) and at the end a lot of code was rewritten in between the version in Lenny and 2.92, I can't fix this easily unfortunately. If you can come up with a patch which applies to the version in Lenny and all the regression tests still work (you'd have to get them from the git tag of that upstream version), I would consider to ask for a stable update, although I doubt that the release team would accept it.
