Package: ucf
Version: 1.17
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

after a big system crash I have to reinstall all package to make sure
they have all their files present and working, including
conffiles. I'm running dpkg with --force-confmiss option to replace
conffiles that disapeared in the crash.

During the run I then noticed the following:

# dpkg -i --force-confmiss /var/cache/apt/archives/fontconfig_2.3.1-2_amd64.deb
(Reading database ... 79081 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace fontconfig 2.3.1-2 (using
.../fontconfig_2.3.1-2_amd64.deb) ...
Cleaning up font configuration of fontconfig...
Cleaning up category cid..
Cleaning up category truetype..
Cleaning up category type1..
Unpacking replacement fontconfig ...
Setting up fontconfig (2.3.1-2) ...
Not replacing deleted config file /etc/fonts/local.conf
Updating font configuration of fontconfig...
Cleaning up category cid..
Cleaning up category truetype..
Cleaning up category type1..
Updating category type1..
Updating category truetype..
Updating category cid..
Regenerating fonts cache... done.

The /etc/fonts/local.conf is handled by ucf so the dpkg flag does not
work. But looking at the ucf manpage I couldn't find any ucf option to
make it behave the same. I only found UCF_FORCE_CONFFNEW and
UCF_FORCE_CONFFOLD. Bot aren't what I want.

Please add a third option UCF_FORCE_CONFFMISS.

PS: it would be nice if dpkg could set those when the coresponding
--force option is used on dpkg (if it doesn't yet).
