Nobody seems to be working on this.  If you or someone you know would
like to, here are a few pointers:

 - gitk upstream is at git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/gitk/gitk

 - See Documentation/SubmittingPatches [1] for the patch conventions,
   especially the explanation of the sign-off line.  Patches go to
   g...@vger.kernel.org; please cc me if you write something to fix
   this, and cc Paul Mackerras if your patch is ready to be applied
   upstream.

 - The gitk source is long, but it’s organized.  A good first function
   to look for is “setui”.

 - <http://tmml.sourceforge.net/doc/tk/index.html>: Tk reference.

If you don’t have time, no problem; this report can serve as a reference
for anyone who wants to work on this.
