It is definitely not a bug in crawl, since it doesn't send any terminal
codes on its own, but relies on curses. Curses make the mistake of relying
on terminfo database, which is often wrong.
It appears that current versions of ncurses show all 16 basic colors
correctly even on xterm-227 with TERM=xterm-256color, though.
