Package: lintian Version: 2.3.4 Severity: wishlist The diff package in lenny is now called diffutils in squeeze. To ease transition, diff is now dummy and it has a "Pre-Depends: diffutils", which lintian flags this way:
E: diff: depends-on-essential-package-without-using-version pre-depends: diffutils However, any version of diffutils is ok, as the package name is new, so this is really a false positive. Obviously, whenever an essential package is renamed, this type of dependency (which should really be a Pre-depends) should be ok.
