Make sure you remove *all* fglrx files and cleanup your xorg.conf accordingly (or even remove it entirely).
Secondly, for r600, you want to use the radeon driver instead of radeonhd, and likely 6.12.192 in experimental. Make sure firmware-linux is installed too.
