I couldn't make it work, probably an upstream bug. I upgraded to the latest upstream git snapshot, had to rebuild opencv against python2.6 to get things work, and with that newer snapshot things work fine. Unfortunately I can not upload that until opencv gets build against python2.6, which will only happen when python2.6 gets the default, which is planned but not scheduled yet.
