Hi again. Talking on irc with nthykier pointed that the symlink is actually missing at the stable version, because It wasn't needed at that time, and the former maintainer Shaun didn't added it.
Now with the transition to 3.5 the link is there. Has always been there.
But when you do a apt-get -t stable install tuxguitar, of course the link is missing and your version is probably referring to swt.jar in the classpath instead of swt-gtk-3.4.jar. Please confirm this behaviour of missing libraries by running versions from testing and sid. The code that refers to this library in stable should directly link to /usr/share/java/swt-3.4.jar as far as I can see.
