Package: alacarte Version: 0.12.4-2 Severity: wishlist Considering alacarte works for any fd.o compliant DE/menu system, the large amount of dependencies of gnome-panel and the default configuration of installing recommended packages, I don't see why gnome-panel is recommended. Were I not the type to more carefully consider the dependencies of a package i'm about to install, I would have ended up with another WM (metacity), file manager (nautilus), a DVD/CD writing app (brasero) and a bunch of libs on my system (basically half of Gnome) when all I was and wanted to be installing was a GUI menu editor that would affect the menus on XFCE4-Panel/LXPanel.
This is my first ever suggestion/bug report and I'd still consider my general Debian/Linux skill level to be intermediate at best. If I've missed something or this is the wrong way to suggest such a change, apologies in advance. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-3-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages alacarte depends on: ii gnome-menus 2.28.0.1-3+b1 an implementation of the freedeskt ii python 2.5.4-9 An interactive high-level object-o ii python-gmenu 2.28.0.1-3+b1 an implementation of the freedeskt ii python-gobject 2.20.0-1+b1 Python bindings for the GObject li ii python-gtk2 2.16.0-2 Python bindings for the GTK+ widge ii python-support 1.0.6.1 automated rebuilding support for P Versions of packages alacarte recommends: pn gnome-panel <none> (no description available) alacarte suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
