Not really no. I don't really have the time (I'm in the 4th year of a medical degree, which keeps me fairly busy) to investigate sub-distros or menu structures. Plus the mailing list server has been inaccessible for a good week or more so the messages have been queuing up waiting for moderation, so I only got a couple that came direct. However, I'm quite happy with kicad being where it is (was?) and it was put there at user request (iirc to be consistent with other electronics programs) so I don't see any good reason to move it. Maybe there is one, but I don't have the time, or frankly the inclination, to find out what the problem is with Edu. Anyway, if/when I get time (I get a couple of free weeks in the summer) to package the next release, that is currently in RC, I think from what I've read I'll be keeping it in the appropriate electronics section as it is (was?).
