Ross, after a lot of testing, i can't confirm your problem:
Debian stable with latest kernel No matter if /proc/sys/net/ipv6/bindv6only is set to 0 or 1 I associated a connection and the link was up and used for 30 minutes without any breaks at all. (within this time, there also have been several forced rekeying processes to test this as well) I give this bug 5 more days so people have enough time to come up with facts / informations about this bug.
