After I installed kernel 8.0, the problem disappeared, but I got these crashes: 

As root

terminate called after throwing an instance of 
`cwidget::threads::ThreadJoinException'
Ouch!  Got SIGABORT, dying..
Aborted

As a user:

Uncaught exception: Unable to read from stdin: Operation not permitted
