In some cases switching to "list" view mode crashes GWorkspace.
If the application starts up with the file viewer in "browser"
mode (e.g. because that was the last view mode before closing),
and the first thing I do is switch to "list" view mode, the
application crashes. The same thing happens if I "browse" to
some other directory on the file system first and then switch
to "list" mode.
