I'm waiting for upstream to resolve the present undesirable state of sla/, and then I'll deal with the shared library issue. I don't know how to check on the status of the C++ ABI transition, but I suspect that it will take longer for upstream to correct the license issues than it will for my build-depends to get rebuilt. The most obscure such dependency is probably libtk-img.
Actually, if I am right, it seems saods9 doesn't not build-depends on any C++ library, so you just have to rebuild it with gcc-4.0.
