Before we apply such a patch upstream, this feature must be implemented as a opt-in option, as it greatly changes the dup handler behavior. (Implementation notes: support for this option must then be added to handlers/dup.helper too, and documented in examples/example.dup. For consistency's sake, the *.dup files content generated by dup.helper must match example.dup.)
