Package: sendmail

hi!

the last upgrade i did contained a new sendmail package.
i just found out that i had quite a lot of inbound mail in the last several
days (since the upgrade) that had been rejected.
turns out my virtusertable had been purged - obviously at the latest sendmail
package upgrade.

i do NOT use a virtusertable plaintext file. the virtusertable is configured as
a hashtable, and this hashtable is always edited directly.

so obviously during the package upgrade, a makemap run for the virtusertable
had been done.

this is evil.

i'd suggest either not to do this (i.e. any makemap calls) at all except at an
initial installation, or at least check the plaintext- and
hashtable-virtusertable modification dates first and only do a makemap call if
the hashtable file doesn't yet exist or the plaintext file exists and is newer
than the hashtable file.

regards,

        Chris
