Well, no, this bugreport does not explain why a dependency against tcl8.5-dev is needed. IMHO the dependency against tcl is due to VTK_WRAP_TCL being set to ON because this wrapping had been enabled when vtk is compiled. It should be enabled only when vtk-tcl is installed; for instance, vtk-tcl could provide a cmake snippet to enable it, and VTKConfig.cmake would load this snippet if present. Ditto for other wrappers, of course. Michal, can you please install tcl8.5-dev and see if you are then able to compile your application? And after installing vtk-tcl?
