Hi Vincent, I'm working on closing bugs for Debian/GNOME bug weekend. You reported bug #555665 back in November 2009.
It appears that you were advised to disable the xrandr plugin in gnome-settings-daemon, if you're going to configure dual-screen at the command line. Do you consider this bug to be resolved? Should this bug be closed? Thanks in advance, Mark Johnson ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Debian Bug Tracking System <ow...@bugs.debian.org> Date: Sun, Feb 28, 2010 at 1:09 PM Subject: Debian Bugs information: logs for Bug#555665 To: Mark Johnson <luthe...@gmail.com> Debian Bug report logs - #555665 When opening the window: "Appearance Preferences", font size of the desktop are changed, without asking. version graph Package: gnome-control-center; Maintainer for gnome-control-center is Debian GNOME Maintainers <pkg-gnome-maintain...@lists.alioth.debian.org>; Source for gnome-control-center is src:control-center. It is linked to activation of the dual screen of Xorg. To activate dual screen I use "xrandr" with the following command : xrandr --output VGA2 --right-of DVI0 When I open the window "Appearance Preferences" without having activated the dual screen, the bug does not occur. The bug only happens when I open the window "Appearance Preferences" after activating the dual screen. However, if I enable the dual screen, then I kill "gnome-settings-daemon", then the system restarts "gnome-settings-daemon" automatically. I can then access to the window "Appearance Preferences" without bug. For information I use the Xorg package version 1.7.3 20 and libxrandr2 version 2:1.2.3-1 (I use Lenny). -- Vincent BOURGEOIS _________________________________________________________________ Information forwarded to debian-bugs-dist@lists.debian.org, Debian GNOME Maintainers <pkg-gnome-maintain...@lists.alioth.debian.org>: Bug#555665; Package gnome-control-center. Well, configure the dual screen using the GNOME preferences and maybe it will work. If you want to do things by hand, you need to disable the xrandr plugin in gnome-settings-daemon. Cheers, -- .''`.
