I'm seeing the same problem too. Aqualung is pretty much useless to me until this gets fixed.
I've noticed that the disc doesn't even have to be cdda to crash it - if you are connected to the internet and you insert an older cd, aqualung queries the online cddb database to get track data, and, you guessed it - BAM! The program crashes. This wouldn't be so bad of a problem if aqualung wasn't the only gapless audio cd player available for linux...
