Hello, Robert. Sorry if you find this harsh, but please write to the bug address, as the entire X Strike Force can read the message and reply. :-) I do not understand why this happens. Also, Matrox is accepted (in theory) in Alpha, as it is listed in the drivers: ati, cirrus, glint, mga, nv, rendition, s3, s3virge, savage, siliconmotion, tdfx, tga, vga Please send a message to debian-alpha@lists.debian.org, maybe putting debian-x in Cc:, and pointing to the bug report. There are several dedicated people (namely Jay Eastabrook) that will debug your problem properly. And forget your idea of going back to SuSE -- we love to keep users in our OS.
