That is not the problem. The problem is that it is not correctly use the language encodings. There can be many encodings out there with a clear definded encoding: de ISO-8859-1 de_DE ISO-8859-15 de_DE.UTF-8 UTF-8 No other encodings are defined for the listed ones. This is absolutely independent to what is the default for debian (let me tell, a boring rank decision, but that's my attitude). If the encoding is not including the .UTF-8 setting then the encoding is the default language encoding which is ISO-8859-1 (or -15) for german or KOI-8 for russian and so on. > I hence do not think rkhunter needs to be fixed to support other > non-UTF8 encodings.
