Is it you who is going to track down every bug report after the transition is over? because before asking for the binNMUs to be schedule I won't go and review every single package's BTS to see if there's a bug to be closed. And is it you who is going to make sure maintainers don't make useless sourcefull uploads saying "Rebuilding against 5.3 (Closes: #nnn)" just to close the RC bug and put more load on the buildds (because another set of binNMUs would still be necessary for the archs with long queues)? If you want to help doing both things then yes, please let's leave the bug open. Packages are known to be broken. There's people (me) actively working on the transition.
