I wish there was some way to turn off these messages:

  Reading package lists... Done
  Building dependency tree
  Reading state information... Done
  Reading extended state information... Done
  Initializing package states... Done

With apt-get, there are only three of them.
With aptitude, five, twice, making 10.

With apt-get it only takes two -q's to make them shut up (but see Bug#569515).
With aptitude no number of -q's helps.
