LVM2APP_ABINAME is just a variable name I picked, 2.1 comes from the SOVERSION $ objdump -x /usr/lib/liblvm2app.so | grep SONAME SONAME liblvm2app.so.2.1 > How stable is this ABI? I guess only upstream can answer that sufficiently. What I did is, I generated symbols files for 2.02.54 and 2.02.60 (latest upstream version) and compared them. There were no changes. This is of course not a perfect measurement for how stable the ABI is, but it is at least not a bad indicator either.
