I just checked with alevt 1.6.2-4. I was unable to reproduce the crash and I have to concur with your analysis. I noted two other things, however: a) With the "Das Erste" mux on Kabel BW I receive a "Program table overflow" because it only supports 16 programs currently, which is hardcoded. b) alevt does not notice channel switches.
