seems like that. have tried many drivers against my Logitech QuickCam Messenger (046d:08f0) - either auto white balance didn't work, or color correction was wrong. the qc-usb was the only driver that could manage it right. the problems with driver under 2.6.30 seem not that brutal, just some minor changes in a couple of structures in the latest kernels - not that principal for the driver itself. but unfortunately didn't have time to get into that and fix.
