Package: network-manager
Version: 0.7.999-2
Severity: important
Network-manager no longer manages connections via
my motherboard's built-in RealTek RTL-8169 Gigabit
Ethernet driver (module r8169). However, a simple "sudo
dhclient" brings up the corresponding network interface
eth2. (Suspiciously this also brings up another interface
called pan0).
Interestingly, network-manager recognizes and automatically
connects when I plug in my "ADMtek USB to Lan Converter"
(ADMtek ADM8511 Pegasus II Ethernet, module pegasus),
which maps to the eth3 interface.
This suggests that this NM bug may affect only connections
made via the r8169 driver.
Hi,
could you please send me the contents of /etc/network/interfaces,
/etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-settings.conf, the output of nm-tool and
the output of "NetworkManager --no-daemon" when you try to establish a
connection via your r8169 nic (make sure to run the last command as root
and kill the running NetworkManager instance beforehand).
Thanks,
Michael
